+1 for Fear of the Dark tho, that album is so underrated.

As for recs I'd say some Type O Negative, Dissection, Eary Arch Enemy, Electric Wizard The Melvins, Acid Bath, and some Bathory will do nicely.

I get ya also le wrong generation crowd, I tend to avoid music boards and comment sections for that very reason. I've found life is a lot more enjoyable if you don't look at a band's fans and just listen to their music before forming an opinion.

If you're into progressive rock and/or death metal and haven't give watershed a listen for me, it's an eclectic and aggressive experiment that in my opinion was a masterpiece.
