As with a lot of modern classical music, I really dig the dissonance and would like to experience it being played live. I have a hard time imagining any other setting where I would want to listen to this - certainly not in the car or while working on something. It demands too much attention.

is this a criteria for music now? if it fits while driving in the car?

I really like the soloing and layering of sounds. I can't understand the lyrics and the shitty recording quality makes it sound like the singer has a lisp (or does he?).
A little unnecessarily heavy on strings, but still a very solid choice of instruments.

I always enjoy the percussive melody. I think of it played on a snare in a drumline. This song has aged okay.

Sweet textures and good balance between the synths and other instruments. Feels like a more progressive rock based version of TOPS.

Is that a Bone Thugs rap in the first half? Hearing the nights in white satin sample... so I guess this is all mashup? Low effort mashup, but decent sample choices

you didnt even listen to the full track you fuckboy

4/10 with stage theatrics. reminds me a little of pere ubu's schtick
1/10 for audio only

okay i just reread your OP and you already said that. still, thats stupid. how can you give a review of a track while not even bothering to listen to the full thing? not as if it would be so time-consuming to listen to a 5 minute track. whats the purpose of this?
>>71109058
Enjoy the folk melody. Though I can only only appreciate it a generic sense as I don't understand the language.
Singing would have worked better a little softer and with a better mic, but overall positive.

Nice deeper cut. I dig it... and fairly risque for the 80s. I can see this appearing on a lot of playlists of non top-40 music that still epitomizes the 80s sounds.

Thank the Toby.
Love the Toby.

Musically boring - though the music is just a vehicle for the rap - which seems alright.

I'm not familiar with "Neverhood" but it definitely has the feel of the music that appears in HBO/Showtime dramas. It fails to work outside of that context.
>>71109225
great use of piano and very nice sudden dynamic changes. sounds like the guitar parts were played on a keyboard.
overall the arrangement is well done with consistent quality throughout.

i'd like to see more songs use a suite format like this. it's gotten too rare in modern times.
unfortunately, this is falls under the category of well-played but forgettable and unremarkable progressive rock.

Not OP but I love this fuckin song (and album)

You can't be hearing the same voice as me and legitimately think "unremarkable and forgettable".
Get off my plane.
>>71109270
very nice. energetic and unique synthpunk.
would work better with louder vocals and less reverb in the vocals, but I can only nitpick.
