I couldn't really tell you the mind set of the audience. Each individual had their own reason for attending I suppose.

There were plenty of women but there were more men.

I went because A) I liked his early stuff and B) I had heard so much crazy shit about a GG Allin concert that I wanted to see it first hand. I had the Boozing and Pranks album but I wanted to SEE it with my own eyes and not just hear it on a record.

Anything you ever heard about a GG Allin concert is probably true. He shat on the stage and ate it. (Runny and diarrhetic) He tried to rape a woman in the middle of the song "I Wanna Rape You" but failed. (She fought back and I think he was probably fucked up on a mixture of booze and smack. He was certainly fucked up on something) He basically wore nothing but a jock strap. He grew various projectiles at the audience at certain times including cinder bricks and garbage pails. He ended the show by macing members of the audience who didn't kneel in front of the stage. (Anybody who kneeled in front of the stage didn't get maced)

This show took place in early 1989 at a club called Exit in Chicago either in February or March. I can't remember the exact month or precise date.

I think Hendrik Möbus of the National Socialist Black Metal group Absurd definitely takes the cake. The entire group murdered a kid who talked shit about them while they were still in whatever the German equivalent of high school is. This is from Encyclopedia Metallum:

"According to press and the "Lords of Chaos" book, reasons for killing local schoolmate Sandro Beyer (15 years old) were because Beyer was hanging around the boys and followed them without realising the members of Absurd were ridiculing him and wanted nothing to do with him. A final threat posed by Beyer was that he threatened to expose an affair one of the band members was having with a mother of a student enrolled at the school. Hendrik Mobus' girlfriend later spoke to Beyer and claimed to agree with him and that she wanted to join in league with him to stop Absurd. She told him to meet at a certain point in a nearby wood at 8:00 PM to resolve certain issues. Beyer arrived at 8:00 PM that night to discover that the whole band of Absurd was there, and that it was a setup. They led Beyer to a nearby shed, where they proceeded to strangle him with an electrical wire, and he died in a matter of moments. They were released from prison in late 1998, but JFN was incarcerated again due to various crimes, including fleeing from Germany to the United States, in order to hide from the police."

Not only that, but Henrik once violated parole by doing a Roman salute on stage which is illegal in Germany.

To add more insult to injury, their release "Thuringian Pagan Madness" has a tombstone on the cover. The tombstone of Absurd's murder victim.
