THUG really helped define my music taste growing up.

That and Amped 2. Amped 2 had fucking American Football and Mock Orange in its track list, it was fucking incredible.

Kinda this. I played a ton of THUG when I was 11 and the thought the music was good but never stuck with me. A decade later I looked at the soundtrack and realised I had become a big fan of loads of the artists on it over the years. It was like subliminal advertising.

Not him, but thug2 had a pretty decent soundtrack. The big difference between thug 1 and 2 though was the first has a lot of great music from lesser known musicians, while 2 had music from people more known like Johnny Cash and shit. That's why the first thug has the better soundtrack. Anybody can pull a bunch of good songs from artists people know and make a good soundtrack, but the first thug really did a good job capturing the underground feel with its soundtrack.
