Can I have your fucking voice? Your tone and inflection are fucking gorgeous. I'm not super impressed with the lyrical content but the vocal delivery is very passionate and you obviously know how to sing quite well. Compositionally the album is a bit hit and miss for my tastes, though the way Underwater is arranged, written, and produced is fucking dynamite.

Harsh vocals sound exactly like Nathan Explosion, it's really hard for me to hear it any other way, but they do sound rad.

Maybe there's context I'm lacking but the theme connecting these songs just isn't there for me. Clearly you have it all mapped out and it probably sounds exactly the way you wanted it to because /obviously/, with this caliber of production and this many people working on it, a lot of effort went into it. Production-wise and performance-wise, very impressive album. But lyrically and thematically it just underwhelms me, personally. I'm sure someone in here will find this exactly to their liking and go nuts for it though. Keep it up, my dude.

Nothing wrong with taking your time on an album, so much of my early material is as cringe-inducing to me as it is now because of how little diligence and patience I had for it, using shitty vocal takes and shitty instrumental takes just because I didn't feel like taking the time to get good ones and use the right techniques. I'd rather hear a new DR album that you yourself stand by and are proud of than one you felt obligated to rush. When it finally comes out you and your fans (myself included!) will be happy you took your time.

Thanks man. The opening track for sure is one I'm really proud of. I couldn't finish the way I'd hoped (no electric guitar) but I really like it. One or two others are coming along too but I still struggle making them perfect. I think guitar is what I'm really missing since it fills in a sound gap that I just can't do with a synth.

I'm muusikko, not sure what you mean by field recording unit for guitars, but what I used a little cassette recorder like pic related using the built in mic to record everything, then I mixed it in ableton. The field recording that is under the whole album is of a campfire I had one summer night. Thanks for the feedback though, the layered sound was very intentional to reward close listenings. On the surface are the actual songs, beneath it are all the field recordings and tape sounds.
