Is RYM worth using boys? Or should I just stick to /mu/ and Scaruffi?
it's great for cataloging and discovering
just stay the sam hell away from the community

thus
Do people really like Scaruffi? The man rates Pablo Honey = Kid A
>>71057222
>one diff opinion makes his efforts bad
open yer mind
>>71057222
he gets ultra butthurt when people use "experimental music" in a more pop setting
>>71057156
This 100%
>>71057219
Seconding. Also avoid the genre queue as well. It's a shitshow.
>>71057222
He's being sarcastic I'm sure.
>>71057120
Good question. I've thought about getting one too.
>>71057252
which makes no sense because popular music + experimental music is da best

Also, it's easy to fall into the poseur pitfall. To remain 100℅ away from that do not ever rate anything and don't add people that make lists. Just use it as a resource, not a taste fashion statement template.
>>71057156
It's not worse than /mu/
>>71057318
Yes it is.
>>71057233
Idk he seems to give even the most universally praised album a 6 at most. His rating system is weird as hell if he has never given an album in the past 15 years even a 9.

How I use RYM
>look up albums I like
>scroll to bottom of page
>click on lists I think are interesting looking
>check out albums or artists that seem interesting on those lists
repeat

This
The only contact I have with the community is when I occasionally look at a discussion to get new albums.
Why do mutants always talk shit about its community? Asking not defending them
Only children use RYM
Real n*ggas use marcel music journal

As someone who uses the site, the community is a combination of pretentious teenagers, stereotypically cringey metalheads/prog rock fans, and annoying poptimists who end up being even more pretentious than the teenagers. Most users are fine tho, just dont use the forums, they're like /mu/ but immensely more boring and with worse people.
