Rammstein is one of my guilty pleasure bands, ever since I was like 13.

They're really good, no drama between members, all seem like good guys, and their music is very consistent. They don't really have any weak albums.

I was only not that fond of Liebe Ist Für Alle Da, probably because I've "grown out" of them at that point, but I still revisit their older stuff, even until Rosenrot, all of them have pretty solid tunes.

That being said, I still want the vinyl box set.

I actually liked LIFAD quite a bit. I found Rosenrot to be their weakest album, but still not bad by any means. Liebe felt like a strong step up in quality in comparison. Til's latest side project on the other hand doesn't interest me much at all.

I like Rammstein. They're one of the only bands from when I was I twelve that I can listen to and not feel shame.
I still hide them though.

as a fan of Laibach and Rammstein, I have to disagree, a significant part of Rammstein work is just the twisted spirit of Till, dark/romantic sexual metaphor directly inspired by his life. Except for a few song that sounds like Laibach, the thematic and late aesthetic (by late I mean everything after their two first LP) is quite different from Laibach's work (Laibach artistic career is also so heterogeneous, hard to compare to anything else)

The documentary about them on the Rammstein In Amerika blu-ray is really good. I learned more about them there than I had anywhere else over the last 15 years.

I`m a fan since 1999. Rammstein was the first band that had me thinking about all that "if a band became popular you should drop it since pop = band" is a pleb way.

Always superb production, well known sound, amazing live.

As a German, I do not understand Rammstein.
I can get behind liking almost all kinds of music, but how Rammstein get so much praise is a mystery to me.
It's just ultra commercial buttmetal with the most cheesy synths I've ever heard, coupled with "provocative" corny lyrics sung in a gimmicky way because they wouldn't work otherwise.
The vapid image the band tries to create via their appearance in live shows and music videos also plays into the fact that most of their following seems to be under 16 years old.

I'm honestly ashamed that these are the musicians most people (especially in the US) primarily associate with Germany.

As a Finn, I generally feel the same way about Nightwish. I think it has something to do with what you're exposed to. I still agree that Rammstein can come off as somewhat corny or cheesy but I like them nevertheless.
