Everybody talks about how influential they were, but who/what did they influence specifically? In what way?
>>
velvet underground
neurtal milk motel
rolling stone
>>
no one says they were influential, because they are not
>>
>>71028916
Stones and VU started before LRD, which began in '69, I think.
>>
>>71028901
japanese bands
>>
I wouldn't say it was them specifically but they were part of the overall movement. Typically its their experimentation with feedback I think

"The mid to late 70's underground scene that Les Rallizes Dénudés was a part of could be seen as responsible for the explosion of psychedelic and noise music that occurred in Japan in the 80's and 90's that featured more well known acts like The Boredoms, Merzbow, Hanatarash, Boris, Melt Banana, High Rise and Acid Mothers Temple. Les Rallizes Dénudés was also seen as an early forerunner to shoegaze, punk rock and alternative folk."
>>
They weren't really influential at all, except perhaps in the Japanese underground scene. It's just that they weren't widely known until the internet and now they are getting attention by all these new listeners.
>>
through Keiji Haino of Fushitsusha directly.
>>
>>71028943
LRD began in 63
>>
they influenced a bunch of krautrock bands, at least can and faust, by convincing them to take popular music seriously
>>
>>71029237
Yeah, as a musical/theatrical troupe. They didn't start seriously working as a band until 1967, where they were influenced by groups like The Velvet Underground.
>>
>>71029281
how would they have known about them?
>>
>>71029429
i dunno lol
>>
>>71028901
Never heard of them.
>>
>>71029545
