I also like the work Anderson has done, I have been procrastinating to listen to Burial Chamber Trio, with Attila. I like their use of moog synthesizers.

That's the first impression one get, but it's dark ambient music to me. It's great for meditiation and for background music.
Was able to pick up a ticket to see them in Philly on March 8th or something like that. Haven't been able to make it through any of their albums, but I heard their live show is something to be experienced. Not a bad use of $20.

I'm a big fan of O'malley's stuff. Also own most Sunn records on vinyl including Domkirke, love them. Saw them last year and chatted with Attila as well.
What's the best Sunn O))) song or album to start my Sunn O))) journey? I like Melvins Lysol if that helps

I'm sure they're far better live. Listening at home doesn't seem like an appropriate way to hear their music.
Their albums can't do justice to their shows, it's unlike any other live music.
Still enjoy them as sort of dark ambient albums. Black One is probably my favorite, not crazy about their early stuff (too doomy for me), thought Kannon wasn't very good. Their live album from Russia is super good though, I'd say it's better than any of their studio work.

The Black One is probably their most accessible work. And also one of their best, so there's that.
