Why do they hate on random popular bands/albums? They did this with Tool too, gave Lateralus 1/10 or something
>>70992154
As bad as the Tool fan base is sometimes, that doesn't justify rating an overall good alt-metal album a 1/10

because Pitchfork are the 21st century Rolling Stone
I don't think it is good to spread misinformation.

>random
How is it random? It's pretty much just whether or not an artist is """cool""". Modern prog is uncool, mainstream indie is cool. It's as simple as that. Pitchfork makes money by associating itself with a particular image or scene and becoming the go-to source for people of that scene. For a long time that was indie pop and rock, now it's hip hop and alternative R&B.

This. Most of the Lateralus "review" consists of the author passive-aggressively making fun of Tool's fanbase. He barely even touches on the music.

Check out the 3.5 trashing they gave Yasiin Bey's awesome December 99th album.
Pitchfork is utterly corrupt.
think you mean "alternative" music news

no 'fake' is accurate.
They trash (or just completely ignore) anything and anyone who isn't in bed with them financially or doesn't conform to their political narrative.
