this is actually good
what's your opinion /mu/?
>post-Rev A7X
Literally why
i'd like them a lot more if the vocals weren't so fucking whiny. the dude can't sing but i dig the music a bit

Nightmare wasn't that bad
> listening to shitty music
>>70961929
That one had the Rev though

No that was portnoy
>>70961806
This. Singer sucks. Hard.
Do you also like Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch and Bud Light?
anything outside City of Evil is shite
>>70962497
I also enjoy the Minnesota Vikings, the Avengers, and Tostito's.

Rev died mid production. I think he is on a few tracks but its mostly Mike Portnoy

They just dont have that "something" that made them more appealing when the Rev was around. This has been true of every album since he died. Although their music seems more accessible as radio friendly rock these days, they seem to have have gotten Metallica syndrome and just put out songs that sound like what they think their fans want to hear after a huge career.
>all of City of Evil had a unique style, the other albums pre-Nightmare werent as much so but still stood out against other bands' sounds
>everything after the Rev has been standard fare for every hard rock band for the last decade
My main gripe with this album:
>supposed to be this huge cosmic metal journey
>black science man's "stars in the universe speech" over some regular metal

>A7X
>good
/mu/ can't into metal, nor will it ever be able to.

They were shit with him, too, don't delude yourself, anon. Rev was a mediocre drummer, people remember him fondly just because he died.
