Noel is a much more conventional singer.

Liam deliberately sings through his nose without really using his diaphragm and while completely eschewing vibrato.

It sounds cool while you can pull it off when you're 27, but it's fucking stupid in the long run because as you age you're going to lose lung capacity, pitch control, and vocal strength --and all these problems are exacerbated if your singing style is like Liam's. He's left himself absolutely zero tools to cover for his aging lungs and vocal chords. Plus he's an on-and-off again smoker.

I remember him being absolutely woeful around ~2007. Seems to have recovered somewhat though judging by Beady Eye.

Also Noel's a heavy smoker/ex-drug/drinker too. No idea how he kept his vocals soft.
