Discovered this during my Mille Plateaux / Raster Noton period a few years ago, this is quite unique and worth listening to if haven't heard it already.
It didn't become a favorite of mine though, just return to it from times to times when I want something weirder than usual.

At first I was into the basics : Alva Noto, Ryoji Ikeda, SND, Farben, Frank Bretschneider, the first two Clicks + Cuts compilations...
Two quite overlooked good glitch projects are Farmers Manual and General Magic, it seems like they had fun creating their weird stuff, unlike your average avant-garde musician. No Backup, fsck and Rechenkönig are all pretty good.
DAT Politics' Tracto Flirt, Sous Hit and Plugs Plus are all good too, it's basically like harshly distorted SNES music, the latter one being more pop. Their Tone Rec stuff is worth checking too.
The last person that impressed me in this genre was Grischa Lichtenberger with And IV.
Other than that, I think it's a more or less dead genre whose aesthetics were shaped by the limitations of the PPC Mac G3/G4 laptops they were using at the time. They have created plenty of tropes for the current and future generations to borrow, though.
