So I've been playing Guitar for roughly two years now, teaching myself through tabs, fret/chord charts and music theory, and while I'm certainly no expert (I would describe myself as *barely* an intermediate player) I decided to expand my scope, and I've recently purchased a 5-string Banjo.
I've learned a few fingerings and about a half dozen songs I would consider myself competent at, and purchased a beginner book. Although I learned most of the said fingerings from it, I feel I got less than I wanted from it.
Considering there's not a lot of (good) Banjo resources out there on the internet, is my next step to buy intermediate books? Dig deep and find a good site or two? Just keep fucking around until I am competent?
Do I buy this man's book? Any good sites you know of?
General Banjo thread as well
My banjo is a 5-string Tempo btw.

Considering buying a banjo, how much did yours cost? Also, bumping for interest.

It was $169 USD, but i got it at discount because they needed to readjust essentially all of the brackets and it took nearly an hour.
I'm glad I got a discount for having a reason to fuck with guitars that aren't mine for an extra hour
I would expect to have paid 190-200 for it otherwise.
Bumping. The book I bought teaches Scruggs style if anyone cares

Maybe checkout the guitar and bass general cause you're a guitarist trying to transition to a different instrument

Will do.
Slowly learning myself.
My background is in percussion so it's a little weird.
Only been playing about 2 months, though. I'd check Banjo Hangout, those guys have been helpful.

How did that transition come about?

What bathroom do I use while I'm transitioning?

Left of Cool was the first cd I ever bought. Lost it for like ten years, found it maybe 6 months ago and started listening to a lot of bluegrass. I always wanted to learn to play a different type of instrument so I figured I'd give it a shot.
