/mu/ != RYM
Not aggressive enough so it doesn't appeal to the edgy teenagers here.

It got slated because Frank Sinatra = fedora = electro-swing.

Wildflower is too hit and miss; some songs are genuinely fantastic, while others (like Frankie Sinatra and The Noisy Eater) are abysmal. Like, absolutely should not have ever been made levels of bad. It's kind of mindblowing how big of a contrast there is between the good songs on Wildflower and the bad.
Mouth Moods, in contrast, is far more consistent. I'd argue that there really are no weak tracks. Certainly nothing bad enough to distract you from the high points of the album.
Wildflower was considered bad? I liked it.

>Frankie Sinatra and The Noisy Eater
These are 2 of the best tracks on the album, pleb.
Wildflower has some good songs interspersed with a lot of garbage. It also, for me at least, doesn't compare to SILY while I haven't listened to Neil's other stuff to compare it to (though from what I've read all his stuff is similar in quality). I'm the opposite of you, I don't know where all the praise for Wildflower is from since it's really inconsistent with only a handful of good songs.
