>tfw never listened to autechredudes
what are they like? where do you start?
boc > aphex though

Depends what you're in too. They all excel in different areas. Thought this was common knowledge desu.
Aphex = Autechre > BoC

Autechere>Aphex Twin>BOC
Autechre > Aphex > BoC
Aphex's ambient stuff is amazing but his IDM stuff is kind of overrated imo
>>70883936
Their first album is pretty good ambient techno, then they make some much better and more isolating ambient techno for a few albums and immediately go fucking insane on LP5 and beyond
If you want to see what makes them really special start with LP5 and go forwards but if you want to do it right go from the beginning

>Thought this was common knowledge desu
It is but these three are pretty much the holy trinity of 90's Warp so everyone compares them anyway
I've always wondered why Squarepusher is never included in the discussions though
BoC>Aphex Twin=Autechre
Both Aphex Twin and Autechre are great, but I don't connect to them like I do with BoC

Ae > Leafs > Twins
Show me the Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada album that pushed boundaries the way Confield or Draft 7.30 did
BoC>AFX>Ae
All three are great though
aphex >> ae >>>>>>> boc

Show me the autechre that sounds as whimsical and childlike as mhtrtc. Show me the autechre that sounds as dark as come to daddy or as ominous as saw 2. While autechre definitely push the most boundaries and experiment the most this does not make their music inherently better.
Silly pleb.

can do

For me a lot of SAW2 is less "ominous" and more melancholy and evocative though so here's an Autechre track for that too

>While autechre definitely push the most boundaries and experiment the most this does not make their music inherently better
I didn't say it did. I just asked for the Aphex Twin or BoC that is as experimental as Autechre's work, which it seems like you aren't able to do.
