The glowing reviews this album is getting is the definitive proof. It is absolutely officially no longer about music. This is the MTV programming transition of modern music. We are now in the official darkest timeline. This is some code red shit.
what are you talking about dude

If you don't understand you're falling for it
"I don't like an album a lot of people enjoy the world is getting brainwashed"
>>70867799
never heard about that album
i dont even know what it is, maybe stop consuming pop culture

blah blah blah
Go back to /pol/ with your shitty ass baits.
What is it?
Stop being a sensational retard
So I take it you're cool with the Julie Byrne album.
Listening to Process right now. It's pretty good electronic music, at least as good as most Andy Stott releases. I'm not sure if it's BNM worthy, but like, who were the last ten artists to get BNM?
Julie Byrne
Sampha
Priests
Migos
The XX
Run the Jewels
Kate Bush
A Tribe Called Quest
Leonard Cohen
Weyes Blood
I'm a bigass Kate Bush fan, and I can tell you Before the Dawn did not deserve BNM IMO. I mean, it's a live album. It's not even new music. I think it got BNM because it has so many Red Shoes tracks on it, and Red Shoes is actually a great album.
Whatever, Pitchfork is always going to get shit wrong.
This album is *far* from their biggest offense. Why are you picking on this guy, OP?
>>70867125
seems like pretty standard standard bnm. theyve rated far worse shit higher
>>70867125
it's good man. Trust me there is a lot of shit that's way worse and got best new music too. Like this other guy said, Julie Byrne's boring ass album for example or The fucking xx.
>>70868111
>as good as most Andy Stott releases
so it's boring as shit?
>>70868259
yeah it's a little milquetoast
meanest thing I can say about it
I mean it's not revolutionary but he has a good voice and there's some good songs on there
Quite enjoyed this album, what about it sets a new low?

Christ, reading the interview p4k did with Julie Byrne, from the way they were making her out, she sounded fucking perfect for me, and then listening to her such a massive disappointment, how can someone release music so dull and unengaging? Nothing about her is noteworthy, not her guitar playing, singing, writing, or arrangements. One big snoozefest.
Not a single person I know knows who Sampha is.
Who gives a fuck

It has a lot more to do with the fact that there's been a dearth of good music coming out to talk about in the last month, so critics are over-praising anything they like at all.
