I'll start:
>classical shoegaze
I'm basically wondering what the classical equivalent of Loveless would be, some kind of piece that is densely layered and textured but still melodic.

that's not really possible, a staple of shoegaze is heavy reverb and usage of effect pedals and no classical music is going to have reverb or effect pedals

I'm actually looking to incorporate shoegaze vocabulary into classical. I'm thinking of doing it primarily with strings as they are quite possibly the only instrument that can do the kind of bends that a guitar with a tremolo can do. Brass is also a good choice for this. Idk, it might work or it might not, I'll do it as a project next semester. I'll see what my professor thinks of the idea

One of my favorite albums. That's actually why I'm asking. I wish there was something else that sounded like it.

Is Campfire Headphase worth checking out? I heard the general consensus was that it was a big step down from Geogaddi so I never really explored it but I do really like Dayvan Cowboy.
Also I'm sure somebody on Warp has done something to the effect of downtempo breakbeat desu

he implied the exact opposite of that

Yes, please listen to it. I think TCH is a more enjoyable listen than any of the other BoC albums. Way too underappreciated for the experimentation it tried.
noise funk (Primus doesn't count)
>>70870439
TCH is the most instantly gratifying album in their catalog, you'll most likely adore it the first few times you listen. But, at least for me, it feels like their shallowest album and once you get used to it it kinda loses its appeal.

Pretty intense shit man. It's not noise like Machine Gun, but it's pretty unique. His other stuff is good too.
