How does YOUR drum kit look?
>>70862118
20 inch ride
Shitty snare, bass drum and toms
Good meinl hi hat
Shitty crash
Only spent 200 dollars but looking to buy 2 more crashes, maybe a China and a double pedal

>>70862118
anyone know what kind of snare Death Grip generally uses? It sounds like tinny
>>70862318
apparently zach uses a keplinger 14x7 stainless steel snare
I have a grolsch kit from the 70s at home in the same setup as OP but with an additional splash cymbal
>>70862298
Nice, how many cymbals?
It's just a djembe and a bass drum
>>70862118
Kind of ugly. Sound good at least?
>>70862193
Looks fun.
>>70862318
Zach changes up snares I think. The tuning is most important- tune the drum high until it feels like it will break, then turn off the snares.
I've got one of those mapex beginner kits with the hihats swapped for the $20 hihats that one store sells, the snare swapped out for an old snare my aunt left me, a $20 20 inch ride, and the right tom taken out for fun.
Basically looks like OP without the second mount and cheaper drums.
shit tier shells, but i've got emperors on the whole thing and a better yamaha snare i found at goodwill for $10 lol. all zildjian cymbals with a 22" ping ride that sounds A++++
>>70863038
beautiful. what kind of cymbals are those?
>>70863153
fuck why is it sideways
>>70863153
Istanbul Sultan
the hihat and ride are awesome, the crash not so much, about 600USD here in Chile
>>70862118
>>70862158
what kind of cabinet is that in the background? where did you get it?
>>70862118
fix your tom angles. that is an embarrassment
>>70863038
Mehmet or Agop?
>>70863355
agree. i fucking hate any kit that doesn't use a separate snare stand for the rack tom
>>70862118
>>70863038
consider me jealous
>>70863386
now we're talking
>>70863356
Just sultan m8, i'm not that rich ;_;
>>70863399
still need one crash and change the heads tho
How do I deal with blisters in drumming. I developed what I thought was a penny sized callus, but when I was jamming hard my callus exploded. I've been plsying with a bandaid on for a few days but now the blisters gone and part of my thumb still hurts with pressure.
Should I just keep playing through the pain to develop a callus or play with band aids on to let my thumb heal?

Virgin bass drums have a great aesthetic.
I always hated the look and placement of toms mounted on the bass drum.
>>70862787
Toms are OK, I have not even tuned them correctly though.. Snare is OK. Crash is good, bass drum OK, Hats are my best part of the kit, ride is good too.
It would probably not sound good to you.. But quality sound costs. Fun as fuck to play though, and it was extremely cheap. A purchase that was worth it.
I'm a guitarist looking to get into drumming. How would y'all suggest I go about getting a kit? Get the individual pieces, a full kit, or an electronic kit? Thanks.
>>70863355
You have no idea how I am looking when playing the kit that way. Im 100 cm tall with long arms. It rather have my toms even steeper and higher up, but the kit does not go that high.
>>70863312
I do not know, actually. Probably some shelf/cabinet from swedish brand IKEA. I can check the name and get back to you if I get your email just because I am a total bro.
>>70863810
maybe not the THE cheapest or easiest way, but i would always recommend buying it piece by piece. You can spend a little more per piece and end up with a much nicer kit than if you just go to Guitar Center and buy the cheapest SPL kit they have. It might take a while but i think that's the best approach. Start with one rack tom and only a couple cymbals.
>>70863810
Electronic/acoustic is up to you. Only people who has to be silent enough not to disturb neighbors go electronic.
Just go to ebay and get a basic kit cheaply, new quality kits are 1000 dollars and up. Upgrade one piece at a time.
>>70863874
Are you at work right now or something?
>>70863933
No, I work at a burger flipper.
>tfw don't know if I want to start playing bass or drums
Drums feel like a big monetary commitment that I won't see a return on
>>70864021
Drums are expensive as fuck, but SO worth it
>>70864021
drum is more rewarding than bass in terms of fun but yeah they are a big money eater
>>70862318
i read once in some drum magazine that he uses shitty low end gear and that he prefers it cause it sounds trashy. i thought it was so funny cause his set was pictured and it looked so crappy compared to all that ads pictured in the mag.
Mine is a blinddrumkit, kid.

Thanks for the advice
>>70863192
Lars, is that you?
>>70863502
play through the pain. calluses will form. if it becomes unbearable use your fingertips to generate more leverage
I sold mine to buy recording equipment because I met a better drummer than myself and now we play music
>>70863502
I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGAS
grip the sticks higher up. that way they move around less in your hands. if you hold it too close to the end you'll get hella blisters
source: i used to play like that
