I know a lot of people that listen to Satie, Eno, Stockhausen, Xenakis, and La Monte Young but they aren't attentive enough listeners to appreciate Holst, Vivaldi, Shostakovich, or Ravel.

All the too cool for school post-modern poseur shit should be at the very top. Especially more so since Satie attracts animu and vidya guys as well since he makes basic bitch stuff.

Most of my favorite composers are firmly in "Weird" territory, (Sibelius is my all time favorite but he isn't on the list), but the farthest down I've gotten to a composer I like is Rautavaara.
I guess I just like snownigger music.

you can only be enlightened under Bach if you spend hours and hours finding the perfect interpretation or better yet learning pieces yourself

My drumming teacher thought I should get into classical, and I swear he's only showed me composers from outcast and down.
