Joy Division with drum machines and a worse singer
next
I think its really amazing how they bounced back after ian died, actually it was probably better he died, cause the 80's was super electronic and new order became all part of the electronic 80's scene

They're corny as shit but damn, they're really good at it

It's almost like Joy Division was completely about Ian and the rest are just forced to play his songs, but then he died and they play shit that they're like

GOAT. One of my favorites ever. The perfect mix between Post-Punk and Dance music.

Joy Division is a different beast
Every time I listen to them I think, 'damn synth technology has come a long way.' They're dated in a way that Joy Division aren't, and the lyrical content took a nosedive.
new order are the model with how rock bands should have evolved during the rise of EDM
Their early stuff is genuinely fantastic; their later stuff is really fun.
they created a perfect blend of the post-punk riffs with electronica. some really great songwriting.
synths sound dated on a few songs though

Movement is very underrated imo

Huh. I actually agree with that. Never thought of it that way.
They made some of the best songs ever made.

Probably the best single band ever
