Ive always enjoyed The Clash's first three albums. I cannot for the life of me get into Sandinista. People laude this fuckin record but there is no consistency in genre and it strays way to far from their rock/ punk roots in favor of experimentation. I understand their importance and influence, but in terms of UK punk rock they are absolutely forgettable compared to bands like Buzzcocks or Cock Sparrer

Wrong way round. The Buzzcocks are incredibly forgettable. I've seen them live and barely remember any songs. In fact, I only remember 2.

This is also kind of true. Especially about cock sparrer I'm always surprised that cock sparrer are not discussed here or even mentioned on chart threads etc. Huge influence and still going strong with a large following even today be it mostly made up old skinheads and punks but a following none the less.
