Killing Joke
The Jam and Fugazi are close behind though
The Cure
He also really likes Men at Work and The Outfield
>>70794463
I saw a few Yes and Emerson Lake and Palmer records, I even saw In The Court Of The Crimson King in his plastic tub of records that he keeps in the garage. All I gotta say is: "Not bad."
My dad is the patrician.
Mama is a plebe. (For the most part)
My older brother is alright but least his taste has some personality.
>>70794463
Talking Heads, U2, and They Might be Giants are literally the only things he listens to
>>70795186
>Yes
>King Crimson
Are these the ultimate "dad listened to this in college" bands? I see this often.
Pink Floyd
Talking Heads
The Band
>>70794463
He doesnt have one. I dont think my dad has even listened to an album front to back. If he shows me any band it is just the bands most popular song and that is it. He did claim he was as good a drummer than John bonham but I doubt that shit.
Johnny Cash
>having a dad
>>70795343

You all seem 15.
The Rolling Stones
>>70800919
you're not 15? are you 12 or something?
i don't know what my dad likes these days.
last time we talked about music he sent me an OK Go music video so I guess there's that.
My mom said that my dad used to love Big Pun.
My step dads favorite band is Modest Mouse
Rip dad. Wish I met you.
>>70794463
Pink Floyd or Depeche Mode
Blues from 1880-1920's. And the rolling Stones
It's either Toots & The Maytals or The Rolling Stones

Los Lobos
Simply Red
>>70794463
Pink Floyd, his favourite song is comfortably numb.
>>70794463
Either Queen or Led Zeppelin, he loves them both to death. My uncle, his older brother, somehow became a lifelong fan of speed metal, though they both listened to the same sort of stuff (mainly their parents records) when growing up. Go figure.
>>70796220
No surprise there. Only homos could unironically enjoy that shit.
AC/DC and Pink Floyd
>>70802192
do we have the same dads?
>>70794463

Truly the best band out there
I guess kino or nirvana
He only listens to clasical and jazz
The Who
The Police
>>70802440
What's it like to have a complete pleb for a father?
>>70802467
>oh no! My daddy don't like shitty 60'/70' bands, i hate him!
>>70802493
Saying "I only listen to jazz and classical" is about the same as saying "my favorite band is the Beatles", since it's the same level of absolute tastelessness while trying to seem patrician.
>>70795203
Two out of three aint bad
My dads favorite band is the who
>>70802538
Yeah but he's not the one saying it, he only listens to that type of music. And i'm answering the question that was asked by OP.
There's literally no one saying he is better than other dads for liking that type of music
>>70802299
it was a comment to "dads enjoying dadrock, what are the odds"
u2

As far as I know, an underground wizard metal band from the late 70s and mid 80s called Bad Axe.

New order
>>70794463
What is the meaning/context of that pic?
When I reverse image search it, I get "AV Idol" and some sites in chinese, but I didn't understand the translation.
>>70803774
Your dad seems like a cool guy, I hope you take after his musical taste instead of falling in with some shit.
>>70803895
IIRC, a guy on Reddit wrote a post about how he had discovered that his little cousin (or some other kind of relative) grew up to become pornstar Lexi Belle. This in one of the photos he took when she still was a kid.
>>70804266
Damn. Lexi was a maddening nymphet. Now she looks kinda trashy.
>>70804266
Goddamn, I though that girl seemed familiar. I wonder if he jerked it to her before realizing that. And if he did afterwards.
>>70804266
>>70804333
>>70804349
I've found the article:
http://thehundreds.com/blog/porncousin/
I probably read about it on Reddit, but it wasn't originally posted there.
>Bruce Springsteen
>The who
My dad is badass
>>70804640
Man, reading that second paragraph (and the rest of the story, really) made me feel bad for every time I jerked it to Lexi. Fuck, now I'm too sad to jerk off to anything at all, and I was planning on having a quick Saturday night wank.
More interesting topic for next time

Preoccupations FKA Viet Cong or Ween
This thread made me realize that many kids who used to listen to grunge or nu-metal back in the 90s are now parents to teenagers.
Fuck, I feel old now.
>>70805201
This thread is mostly dadrock, which is what you'd expect the dads of millennials would listen to.
>>70794463
King Crimson
>>70802538
Jazz and classical are HUGE music genres with a lot of different sub-genres.
It's like saying "I only listen to pop and rock".
>>70805273
yeah, but just hearing a single person say that his dad's favorite band is System of a Down sounds weird to me.
>>70805108
Oh also emerson lake and palmer
>>70805338
Ironically, both pop and rock have more variations and different types than either jazz or classical. Mainly because a lot more people are making and have been making pop and rock. music than either jazz or classical. Hell, rock alone probably has had more musicians than both jazz and classical combined.
Primal Scream
Being As An Ocean
>tfw your dad has zero music tastes at all
Really made me late to the whole hobby of listening and collecting music.
>>70802192
strange combone but ye
>>70805547
>Ironically, both pop and rock have more variations and different types than either jazz or classical.
I like rock, but the autism of microgenres doesn't really count.

He doesn't have a favorite band, but he does like listening to old blues music on the radio. He also has a classical CD and an opera CD somewhere in his room that he puts on once in a blue moon. I got him Rachel's Music For Egon Schiele for his birthday and he still hasn't listened to it :(
>>70794931
This.
Electric Light Orchestra
He loves Blondie as much as he hates Van Halen
also he struggles to reconcile his protestant beliefs with rob halford's badass vocals
Led Zeppelin
