and yeah that J.B. Lenoir album is one of my favs. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Chicago blues but Lenoir has a sound that's still very rooted in country blues, along with his lyrics which are just fantastic.

ya, I always thought "Chicago Blues" was like corny fun music that had a horn section. I guess some of these Lenoir tracks are more uptempo but mostly it sounds like Leadbelly or what have you.

He can really sing better than most of those guys, though. Really great tunes.

I know I like some country blues that I've heard because of the stripped-down style of those particular songs, and I know Robert Johnson is Delta which I know the geographic region but I guess I don't really know the musical distinctions.
