Yamashita's body of work is very "groovy" as opposed to being purely "funky" imo. This is essential city-pop in all honesty. Moonglow is my favorite album of the bunch, with the rest following behind pretty closely. Also the song "Christmas Eve" on "Melodies" is Japanese christmas-core.

Do any of you remember some of the albums from the Digital Trip Synthesizer Fantasy series that I've uploaded here? They were 80s synth rearrangements of various anime songs, and different artists did different albums. Osamu Shoji was one of those artists...

Anyways, he's known for doing a bunch of other synth albums, too: some of them are original, and some of them are rearranged versions of other songs. This album contains rearranged synth versions of various songs by the Bee Gees, and just like a few of his other albums, it has currently yet to be released on CD.
