>tfw didn't listen slint after a year in /mu/

Spiderland will always be a revolutionary album, but, honestly, it is a little a overrated. The impact is there, for sure, but the actual content can be way too grunge-ish for my taste.

If anything it sounds too overbearingly emo at times rather than grunge-esque.
whiny nu-male shit

forget slint and take the tarpill

>tfw been on /mu/ for 8 years and still never listened to slint
OP here, so no one knows who June of 44 are.
I posted the picture in hopes someone would notice. June of 44 is a band heavily inspired by Slint.
Erskine's previous group, Hoover, also inspired by Slint. The majority of Scharin's work post-Codeine, also inspired by Slint. Mueller's previous group, Rodan, also inspired by Slint.

came here to say this
I like Spiderland alright but still think it's a fluke and shouldn't be considered such a masterpiece just because it was influential. It's mostly just post-hardcore with a soft-loud dynamics, nothing terribly interesting going on musically.
Talk Talk and Bark Psychosis (I'd argue Hex was the first true post-rock album) were influential while still making experimental and forward-thinking music that was also really fucking good.

I was thinking, this looks nothing like slint. Was just about to mention it
