New Values [Arista, 1979]
This album provides what it advertises only to those who consider Iggy a font of natural wisdom--there are such people, you know. But it does get at least partway over on the strength of a first side that has the casual, hard-assed, funny feel of a good blues session--except that it rocks harder, which ain't bad. B+
Critical darling, but not a commercial success. Iggy tries his hand at New Wave and making an album without David Bowie. The production is tamer and not as frenetic as his Stooges stuff, but the songwriting is also more developed as well--he was now in his 30s and sounding a little more grown up than in the Fun House days.

But that's all of his albums. Only Lust For Life was a major seller and only in the UK.
Wouldn't say that it is better than lust for life (I like the later more) but all of his albums outside of The idiot and lust for life underrated as fuck.
American Ceaser is excellent, Blah Blah Blah, Zombie birdhouse and everything post skull ring (including it)
The 80s were not kind to him at all. Wow.

The fuck's with the cover? They doing some kind of modern interpretive dance routine?

he always did weird dances like that in his live performances
