is there any innovation left in guitar music? what uncharted territories are there?
9-string shit
guitar tones are pretty infinite
the merging of genres that shouldn't be merged like dream-d-beat, deathgaze, folk grind, funeral doom/flamenco/beatdown hardcore

I don't think it's about how much you explore, but how deep you get into it, maaaaaannnnn

i've been fucking with a highly controlled mishmash of all the techniques in rapid and random succession barely following a melody which reminds me of tom morello mixed with spencer seim. i don't think i've heard anything else like it.
I've been toying with lap-tapping, I think I'm going to use it on my next album

field recordings of anon humping his guitar (without lube)
also stoner black metal
I'd be happy if I could transpose and play music at the level of Emre Sabuncuoglu:

That said, I think the future is making strange music on DAWs, to avoid thinking like a guitarist, then playing it on the guitar.

soloing in indie music

>flamenco hardcore
Seconding this. The technical execution would be really difficult, but I bet it'd make quite an interesting sound.

I would suck your cock if you could do it on that level, John Duarte also made great transcriptions.
I think Eduardo Mateo was on his way to make more great music, fairly innovative. He got all kinds of fucked up in drugs, sadly.

Got the idea from watching Aphex Twin covers on the guitar and drums. They're awesome.
An electric guitar and someone who knows how to manipulate effects pedals are all you need to make any genre and just about any sound. It's the most versatile instrument. The guitar will stay relevant in music for awhile in my opinion.

Post stuff when you figure out how you're gonna do it
