Like what Tool does with 90% of their albums
Just stuff that makes it so much better having it physical than digital, y'know? even if it is a slightly cooler digipak or vinyl-sleeve cover

I always thought that packaging was tacky.

lots of records.
zeppelin 3 had a wheel inside that moved
in through the out door had an inner sleeve that was black and white but when water spilled on it, it changed color.
The Astonishing vinyl was especially good even though it was $100. It comes with a board game size map made from the album story. It also comes with character designs but no pieces. Although making your own is apparently a big thing now.
Have a metal CD on which the edges are cut into a sawblade

The deluxe CD comes with a very nicely made robot drone but it's about baseball size so not intended for use with the board game.

Wtf how? I mean I guess it's kinda interesting that you have to hold the liner notes at an angle to catch the glare so you can read them but that's also kind of annoying.

Sometimes they're necessary
Everyone talks about F#A# Infitiy's vinyl packaging, but the CD packaging is very pretty.
