Leave him be, the albums after MM are pretty different from each othe, it's okay to dig just their punk funk sound they used to have.

My favourite album is BSSM and I actually enjoyed Stadium Arcadium

I enjoy them but haven't listened super deeply. I like By the Way a lot.

I love all of the John stuff, but when Flea has control of the band's creative direction he tends to lead them in the direction of drivel.

Without John they are nothing. MM through to Stadium Arcadium was good. They probably should have bowed out then as it seems they're past their use by date
