Which is the best SWANS album?
>>70705643
My choice is probably Greed followed White Light.
Cop
post rock fucking sucks and Swans is no exception
WLFTMOI followed by Cop followed by PCIAGI
Soundtracks for the blind by a mile
>>70705740
why does it suck? White Light is an incredibly bleak look at our existence, saying it's bad just because it fits into the post rock sub category is retarded
>>70705784
He's talking about To Be Kind and The Seer.
White Light is gothic/neofolk and is probably the most human album Gira created.
>>70705784
did you make the thread saying this was an existential album?
post rock swans is a joke without a punchline and neoswans is fucking shit
they stopped being good after it wasn't cool to make gothic rock
>>70705779
Nah. Soundtracks for the blind has too many stupid filler songs to be the greatest. Yum Yab Killers and Hypogirl for example, they're just shit.
Especially Yum Yab killers live version because it takes me completely out of the experience to go from an atmospheric as fuck set of songs to some fucking live song with people in the talking background and bad recording quality
>>70705845
While that's true, I fucking love Yum Yab Killers it's one of their best songs
>>70705833
>>70705861
>thread about swans
>doesn't want discussion about swans
>>70705866
>this is shit
>i say so
>discussion
>>70705833
>cool
>post rock swans is bad
>"fucking shit"
>implying it doesn't cover any existential topics
>>70705833
>i hate post rock swans
>i use music as a fashion statement
cool opinions
>>70705881
you disagreeing with me doesn't stop post rock from being awful
>>70705888
I don't disagree that it covers existential topics but someone created a thread with White Light asking if there was a more existential album.
>>70705896
Nice projection
I don't just hate post rock swans I hate post rock
Noisy Swans is infinitely better
>>70705833
I like post rock swans. While my favorite is Children of God, my next three are SftB, The Seer, and TBK. However, I don't think Swans have ever released a bad album.
>>70705922
>this album is bad because it stopped being cool like my clothes
>i know you are but what am i argument
>lol look at me i like "noisy" swans best
>doesn't realize children of god was their loudest
>i hate genre
enough
>>70705922
whats wrong with asking if theirs a more existential album?
>>70705983
such a fucking cliche, a pseud swans fan talking about existentialism
>>70706573
but it doesn't make it any less valid
>>70705740
Although I'd say that Cop is massively underrated and is the best of 80s Swans, everything after you saying that Cop is their best is simply incorrect. Their late 90s post-rock era had some of their most atmospheric and emotionally moving works which, to me at least, seem timeless. I haven't listened to the Seer in a while, though, so I can't argue on that point.
Stay pleb :)
One of the heaviest albums of all time.
