So I just read the pitchfork review.

My main issue with the review is that it basically boils down to "his punchlines aren't as crazy as they used to be." Instead of trying to understand the album on its own terms, it tries to relate it to others.
For example: "Ghostface gets outshone every time there’s a guest verse"
While I tend to agree with this statement throughout the album, the album is not just ghostface. It's as if the critic was trying to critique ONLY ghostface's performance on the album, instead of the album as a whole.
I mean there are 5 rappers total on this album, along with the three piece band BBNG, I find it hard to justify rating this album solely on ghostface's performance.
I mean the pitchfork review only barely brought up those other artists instead of actually talking about them.
In my mind this album is around an 8 or so. I'm not hard set on this rating, or even disagreeing that someone could think it's a 6.2. It's definitely not a 6.2 for the reasons that critic says though
