There is nothing about this album that makes it lasting and that is the biggest reason why I don't think it will survive the rest of 2017. Sure, there are many popular songs on here that will probably never be mashed up quite as good ever again, but I am not convinced that a mash-up such as the ones found on this album can be considered transformative of the original work. What I am trying to say is that the songs are good on this album for the same reason that the original songs were good; but that's it. The original songs are immediately recognizable and that's the only thing that makes the album immediately accessible, but without the transformative aspect, the glossy veneer of these mash-ups will wear off and the listener will recognize the songs for what they really are, two popular songs being played at the same time without any additional context, interesting, but not special. Distinctly separate from those points is that there is no doubt a group of people on here who are listening to these songs that they ironically hated growing up but now un-ironically like because popular internet culture tells them it's OK, it's OK because it's a meme. That will wear off too.

I give it an 8/10

For example A Thousand Miles will always make me cry, it always has, but I've never liked Back In Black. However, AC/VC makes me love both in a new way, and makes me appreciate the vocals of Back In Black in a more experimental (and also funny) light than I ever would have normally. I cried laughing the first time I heard it but I've listened to it about 20 tmes since because I find something beautiful in it.
