I don't like derivative stuck up cunts, no.
>>
>>70626479
I would like them if they were fashy ancaps rather than sjw faux anarchists
>>
>>70626513
i wouldn't call them derivative
>>
>>70626570
faux anarchists? hahahahahaha
>>
I honestly like the idea of them more than their music, but they definitely did a lot of interesting stuff, with their communal living and art work. They literally made the animal rights movement in England as big as it is. And while I'm not crazy about their music, they totally inspired so many great bands, including Amebix, Conflict, Flux of Pink Indians, Zounds, The Ex, and Rudimentary Peni. Penny Rimbaud is a really interesting, intelligent guy. Steve Ignorant seems like a really down to earth, good person.

>>70626513
I strongly doubt you know anything about them. They rightly called out the Sex Pistols for being corporate products, but the only band I can really remember them ever totally shitting on is The Exploited, who were probably the most retarded band in the entire scene.

ancap was barely a thing back then. Hell, it's still barely a thing, and it has nothing to do with the history of anarchism. Also note that back then the libertarian movement was more generally anti-establishment, and actually supported some anarchists - anarcho-socialist Murray Bookchin was actually giving talks at Libertarian Party conferences
>>
>>70626720
op here, nice to see someone else actually know something about the band
>>
>>70626720
>anarcho-socialist

The entire history of anarchism was a subset of the socialist labor movement. It was most articulated by Proudhon, who thought people should get the total fruits of their labor, then by Bakunin, who was a contemporary and rival of Marx, and rejected Marx's ideas, saying they would inevitably lead to authoritarianism, and then by Kropotkin, who tried to get rid of the potential authoritarian pitfalls of Marxist theory.
>>
>>70627045
I'd rather side with fascists than with Marxists or SJWs, sorry
>>
>>70627398
I literally just explained that the left-anarchists weren't either of those
>>
>>70627045
It's nice that you are putting forth this effort to talk about something when others are shitposting (even if it is unrelated to the board).

The people representing Anarchism, hell, even the far left in general make it very hard to take seriously. Most of the people representing it nowadays come off as champagne socialists who are totally divorced from the reality of the labor force and are just looking for an excuse to beat people/ steal shit for themselves rather than practice illegalism to benefit for noble causes. I know I just a bunch of places there, but I sympathize with out a lot of those ideas. I just don't think I would fit in with other people who do.

They're pretty cool, and Penny Rimbaud is a sharp guy:

Despite their obvious commitment to Anarchism and Pacifism, CRASS in a way was far more anti-political or at least apolitical than many Oi!/Punk bands claimed to be. They criticized both the National Front and Socialist Worker's Party equally. I can respect them a lot for that.
>>
>>70627485
I agree with you. I can talk a lot about anarchism because I was really interested in it when I was 18 or 19, but I'm 27 now and it's been years since I've associated with that. I think anarchists have the right values, or their heart's in the right place, but I don't think the anarchist movement has really done anything that worthwhile since the 70s, and I don't think they've been a real player in any major sense since the 1930s. It's also embarrassing that the most visible legitimate anarchists are the black bloc'ers - those kids in black hoodies who go around breaking Starbucks windows and punching Richard Spencer. They actually hurt their own cause by making themselves look childish, and they don't achieve anything other than making things harder for other working people. So yeah, modern anarchism is, ironically, a bit bourgeois

>>70627940
this is op here, being a young anarchist pacifist, alot of the black bloc'ers give me shit for "not doing anarchism right".
