You get used to the drums, they're not that bad, in fact they're actually quite good, just different.

St. Anger, Some Kind of Monster are probably the best two tracks, and they're both fucking epic

Compared to any other Metallica album, this one has weak lyrics. I mean "FRANTIC TICK TICK TOCK" really? Why? And I can agree with you, the snare is bearable and you can get used to it. But it doesn't make it NOT terrible. The snare is awful.
