amazing
really fun to listen to
Raw Power is better IMHO but that doesn't stop Funhouse from being a rocking' l'il masterpiece!
I haven't heard The Weirdness yet but The Stooges never put out a bad album as far as I'm concerned!
Probably the heaviest shit when it first came out, and thus very influential for some time. Borderline obsolete these days though.

Not really.
Before that there was the first MC5 album and before THAT there was the first Blue Cheer album

I honestly feel more power in this than in any metal
It's great because it's so primal and anarchic. In my mind, it's sort of the bridge between stuff like The Monks and Captain Beefheart, and bands like The Birthday Party.
That said, I am more of a Raw Power person, even if Raw Power is the more conventional rock album

Not him, but while I agree that in terms of literal heaviness the MC5 and Blue Cheer have them beat (not to mention the first Led Zeppelin record, which came out a year earlier), Funhouse is actually a much more challenging record and unconventional record than either of those... though, of course, on that scale Trout Mask Replica also predates it.
one of my favorite albums ever desu
