Their both great and I'd say if your into darker music your album is going to be Pornography, and if your into dreamier music than go for Disintegration

For me it's Seventeen Seconds. I think it's almost indisputable that either Disintegration or Pornography is a persons favorite with the other coming in second.

Pornography literally makes me want to fucking die. For that alone it's a harder listen than Disintegration.

Also Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me for 3rd best.

Just finished trying it, I'm going to knock it.

The tone between the two albums is so different that it feels nothing like a complimentary double album. It doesn't even feel like a meaningful contrast. It felt exactly like listening to two different albums in succession.

Why no love for Pornography?

One day when I wanted to get into The Cure I listend to both Disintegration and Pornography. Since then I haven't listend to much again (but I liked them), but I can only remember songs from Pornography. Something about that album was more memorable to me.

There's plenty of love for Pornography. It's just being compared to Disintegration, and there's no way it can get the better end of that deal.

Pornography is The Cure's strongest album, but it being so exhausting to your feelings lowers the album in my opinion.

I think debut would be so strong if it lacked some shitty songs. Delete Object, Foxy Lady cover (i kinda liked it at first but now i just dont know what the fuck is going on in the song) and Its Not You. 10:15 is a masterpiece, so are Meathook, Accuracy and Fire in Cairo. Childish, easy to play songs that feel very anxious.

Disintegration's swirling psychedelia is very appealing to my sensibilities and it's a rare 72 minute album that feels too short so of course it's the winner.
Even the b-sides like '2 Late' are great

The Cure is my all time fav band, and I´m a hardcore fan. Disintegration is cure´s best album but if you are in the mood, pornography can win the debate. But as many people say here, pornography is too intense, you have to be in the mood, while disintegration is more playable/replayable. However my favourite album of theirs is Faith.
