Don't trust me, read his book or any of his interviews. He also disavows individualist anarchism/libertarianism in the song "Do What You Want"

>>70606589
He's not a libertarian.
He's Willy Wonka.
Also he's notoriously reluctant to talk about politics other than to say shit is frustrating.
Also he's a catlick so there's that.
>>70606280
Neil Peart is one of the most renowned drummers there are, and people cite his precise timing.

Liberals are definitely on the libertarian side of the libertarian-authoritarian scale. Actual liberals anyway. "Leftists" in general can tend to have a "anything for the greater good" mentality, although authoritarians tend to be angsty, loud minorities because we don't live in a very authoritarian society. So-called "classical liberalism" and libertarianism really only differ in that liberals want some limited government interference in economics and enforcing equality while libertarians claim to not want any and sometimes LARP as anarchists.

Thanks for clearing things up, Goku.
>>70606507
in short, Libertarians
>>70606715
No problem, see you later! And remember, being a borderline feral child in the wilderness is the only true political system!
>>70606800
Everything will be delivered by drones in libertarian paradise anyway.
TOO MUCH POLITICS!?
NOT ENOUGH HERBIE!?!
Ok, folks we're gonna play a game. It's called 'Pick a Year'
Name a year between 1962 and 2007, I'll talk about/review the album that's on or closest to that year.
>>70606951
1961
I get a weirdly libertarian vibe from MF DOOM. He's sort of... out there enough I think
Daily reminder that the libertarian right has the worst music
>>70607038

Does anyone know if Isaac Brock is a libertarian? Even if he's not, at least he doesn't seem to talk politics much.
>>70606951
1982.
>>70607228
Oh, ok! Perfect!
Quartet was released in 1982, and was esencially a collaboration album between bassist Ron Carter, drummer Tony Williams, and trumpet player Wynton Marsalas. On this album there were no new compositions from herbie, though 2 of his earlier songs were re done. "Eye of the Hurricane" from Maiden Voyage and "The Sourcerer" from Speak like a Child
My personal favorite on the album is the reworking of the jazz standard Round Midnight.

Even you can you evil plotter.
>>70607524
got 1997?
>>70607543
I DO, actually!
One moment.
1+1 was a collaboration album between longtime friends Hancock and saxophonist Wayne Shorter. This album is notable because it features ONLY them on the instrument with no other accompaniment from other musicians or collaborators, just Herbie on piano and Wayne on soprano saxophone.
The album featured all compositions made by Shorter and Hancock with the exception of the song 'Memory of Enchantment' written by Michiele Borstlap, a very fantastic re working of the track.
It's an overlooked album a lot of the time but certainly not a bad one.
