Hey mutants. I'm (embarrassingly) struggling to find Russian musicians that are popular in western society besides Tatu and Pussy Riot.... any recommendations? I'm especially interested in bands that could be considered counter-culture to Putin's regime.

I don't think there are any. Yes Tatu had one popular song 15 years ago, but Pussy Riot was never "popular," it was just that their arrest got some mainstream coverage, their music didn't get any attention.

/mu/ loved Pinkshinyultrablast a couple years ago though.
