Pumpkins fans, how would you rank their albums?
My take:
Mellon Collie>Adore>Siamese Dream>Machina>Gish>Pisces>Zeitgeist>Everything Else
Anyone got a link to Aeroplane flies high?
Oh shit havent listened to Pisces either.
Only albums i care about are siamese dream, mellon collie and adore. the rest is pretty forgettable

siamese dream >> ruined tracklist and the infinite filler > gish >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything else
siamese dream > gish = pisces iscariot (which isn't an album but collected b-sides and a few alternate takes but w/e) > everything else
I was a huge fan but I was just not feeling Mellon Collie when it came out. dropped.
here's the archived posts to bootlegs I ripped of their early material:

Adore, Gish, Machina/The Machines of God, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Pisces Iscariot, Zeitgeist, Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music, Oceania, Monuments to an Elegy, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, The Aeroplane Flies High, Siamese Dream.
That being said, I didn't own Siamese Dream and haven't listened to it much. Also I havent listened to all of Teargarden. All of their albums are great and there are a lot of great songs not on album.

The Pumpkins have enough amazing B-Sides to fill up like 3 to 4 additional fantastic albums.

zeitgeist > machina tbqh
Huge Pumpkins fan here
Machina>Siamese>Mellon Collie>Adore>Pisces>Machina II>Gish>Zeitgeist>Teargarden
I don't dislike anything in their catalogue, but that's my order for favorites

god no
>>70602244
machina is forgettable for you, anon? have you even heard it?
>>70604452
Hell no.
Machina has some amazing songwriting, that whole era is a creative streak for Corgan. Tbh, the main issue with it is the mixing and mastering, as well as how the album was sequenced, which versions were used, etc.

Yeah. I don't understand how anyone can hear the second part of the chorus for The Everlasting Gaze and not just fall in love. Also Stand Inside Your Love is killer. Everything else is just extra ear candy, which is great.

For me the highlights are
Sacred and Profane
I of the Mourning
This Time
Wound
With Every Light
Age of Innocence
All are superb and some of the most beautiful songs Corgan has written.
Then look at the the songs on Machina II, the songs on the Machina II EPs, etc, etc, and it's clear that Corgan was on a streak similar to that of MCIS, just an insane amount of music. Only difference is the production, mixing and sequencing on MCIS was masterful, and problematic with the Machina sessions (no doubt due to Virgin nixing the double album plans)

MCIS > SD > Adore > Gish > Pisces > TAFH > Machina > Machina 2 > Oceania > Zeitgeist > Teargarden > MtaE
Also, sidenot
Zwan era was also a creative peak for Billy. The sheer amount of amazing songs he wrote is nuts. Again, he fucked up with what to release.
