Yeah I realized immediately after posting I ignore the 'post' bit.

I feel like many of the songs were just not altered enough to become something different, it doesn't feel like fair use. Many times the beat track begins and I am feeling to groove of the original song and makes me want to listen to the original but then the lyric track begins and I am just disappointed. However the quality of the mixing is suburb and very fluid. This is the kind of album that will get this guy a lot of professional work like Danger Mouse and the Grey Album, but mash ups aren't controversial like they were in the early 00's so the chances of this album going viral are slim.

Just listened to Mouth Moods for the first time, it was mindfuckingly good. Neil outdid himself. Talk about a whirlwind of emotions. I would bust out laughing at times, tap my foot to the grooves, be mind blown by the creativity of some of the mashups, and damn near even cried during the YMCA mix. This is unironically the best album of the year so far, and will truly be hard to top.

I legitimately believe there's something genuinely artistic about Neil's Mouth series. I might just be regurgitating something Anthony Fantano has said, but it just is such an attack on pop-culture in general. In a way that is both praising it and attacking it. It's comedy, but it's also like getting musically raped for the duration of the album. I truly feel like there's more to this shit than just "lol memes." I might be being a bit pretentious though.
