I love depressing music but Low is just comfy to me. Anybody else relate? I really want it to be soul-crushing but it just isn't. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention to the lyrics? I dunno
If this doesn't fuck your shit up nothing will

>I WANT YOU TO NEED ME
>NOT TO FEEEEEEEEED ME
Shit is always fucked by that stage
Swans is the music that made me want to end a mans life only to know what the regret feels like. When the music didnt wear me down like the air turned to honey it only relaxed me, so yeah, same.
My favorite album was "White Light from the Mouth of Infinity" havent listened to them in like a year, but i can vividly imagine the harrowing echo even right now "Im so glad, im better than you are" when they repeat it so often it feels like a moment is turned into an infinity. Thats what I love about depressing music.
Since I feel fine atm and i dont want to risk ruining that i wont listen to what you guys post, but i will write it down.
Try not to cut yourselves on these edges, btw sorry
I've never heard anyone describe Low's music as depressing. Their live shows especially are anything but, they just don't play at fast tempos.

"slowcore"
Blue tile lounge Lowercase is in the same field of low/codeine
I believe most depressing music exists to ease the depressive state, not crush your soul. In a lot of great slowcore like Bluetile Lounge, the vocals are hard to make out and it's more about the feel. Low is a good band if it's just straight-up sadness.
you obviously aren't real emo ok you dont know what its like to have depression (self diagnosed but stillv valid fight me) and until yu liste n to the black oarade all the way thorguh you ll nebr knwo whta ist like to be sad. k?

Slowcore != depressing lyrics
You wouldn't call Galaxie 500 depressing, would you?

That's the problem. The music is sad and melancholy but it's the lyrics that hit hard. Not to mention you're just flat out missing out. Their lyrics are fucking great.
Have you listened to Trust? It's their darkest and heaviest record.
