It's just that at least Death Grips has amalgamated a semi-innovative sonic style from pre-existing sounds and done so in a way that could inspire and push other artists in new directions.

They could be forgotten in a few years and become a blip in music history. But as of this moment little rivals them in terms of mainstream innovation. I say "mainstream" because if I didn't I'd probably trigger this vocal minority group of autists.
