Can, Faust, the list goes on...

How is that Popol Vuh album considered krautrock? it's barely rock...
>>70554892
It's rock, not to mention some of the best of all times

Krautrock isn't so much a genre as it is a movement. Tangerine Dream's Zeit for example is literally electronic soundscapes.

The western press just called it all krautrock because they wanted a named for this new German music that came out of Germany at the time. So they used this as an umbrella term.

Krautrock genres are all over the place from folk, electronic, post-punk, jazz, prog, proto-metal. Pretty much any experimental music made in germany in the 70's is Krautrock.

>electronic soundscapes
You mean ambient?

Stuff like Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze is also called "kosmische musik", which is kind of a sub-genre of kraut-rock.

Yeti is an Amon Düül II album, btw.

Yeah true, forgot the II.
while it is relatively new and from Japan I've been liking the Minami Deutch record a lot lately and I feel like it fits the motorik krautrock essence pretty well
