So I'm trying to learn the French language and am interested in getting more exposure to French artists. Currently the only ones I really listen to are Alcest, Amesoeurs, Yelle, and Coeur de Pirate (I know she's Québécois but still). I love the way female vocals sound in the language so that would be more of what I'm looking for but I'm open to pretty much anything.

Listen to Gainsbourg's Histoire de Melody Nelson, a brillant album and with very poetic lyrics. Gainsbourg's narration is excellent, even though it's obviously not a female voice.
