Albums Americans will never fully understand.

Because the part where he says "you are what you eat so eat well"? As an american I never understand that, I'm not a big mac.
>>
>>70550048
Because the album is literally just one giant reference to british culture in the late 60's and early 70's

there's a fat old lady outside the saloon

When I heard of Brexit and people protesting it I immediately thought of this album.
>>
>>70550326
Some people just don't care about sovereignty of the country they live and want to be ruled like a colony. It's either that or they're paid to show up at protests.
>>
>>70550336
Or they're johnny foreigners who want the gibsmedat to continue

There's a site that deals with interpretation of lyrics that may help you - rock.genius.com. What fascinates me about this album is the Medieval folk sound combined with progressive rock motifs. They truly created something that will be remembered forever.

europeans will never understand rock music
>>
>>70550656
And yet, Trout Mask Replica and Television by Marquee Moon did better in Europe than it America.
>Upon release in the US,Trout Mask Replicasold poorly and failed to chart. It was more successful in the UK, where it spent a week at No.21.
>Marquee Moonwas released in February 1977 to widespread critical acclaim and unexpected commercial success in the United Kingdom, but sold poorly in the United States.

Am I pro or anti Brexit? Is that what you're asking? I answered that, although indirectly, here: >>70550336
Any sane and rational person would be anti Brexit too, I believe. And as an economist, it would be abysmal of me to support Brexit.
>>
>>70550410
my point is that even if i were to go and look up every lyrical reference that exists in this album (which i have over the years), i'd never understand it in the way a british person would
>>
>>70550785
I agree. I think there are definitely British people posting here, so it would be nice if someone who's heard the album and is British to explain some of the references.
>>
>>70549878
I'm British, and that album is complete garbage.
>inb4 >british >says 'garbage'
>>

Thank you for your valuable input.
