Asking because I recently had to downgrade to a laptop with terrible storage capacity. Now all my music is sitting on my external hard drive which is awkward to keep connected all the time.

I have a seedbox.
I stream lossless from there.
you could just upgrade the internal hdd
spotify for most
comput/phone storage for everything i cant get on there
Youtube and Spotify when working or discovering new bands. Bands I really enjoy I buy in vinyl and listen through my setup.
Spotify for most since What.CD shut down. About 1.6TB of music downloaded on desktop for hoarding, about 800GB or so on a portable drive which is stuff I'd be sad if I lost. Considering building a HTPC formfactor computer to act as a media server and put everything on there instead.
>tfw hoarded tons of old hard drives
>tfw my senile grandpa gave me his 1tb external hard drive thinking it was 30gb
>tfw I'll never run out of space

>not giving it back and telling him it's really 1TB
You're a shitty grandkid.

He doesn't care, he barely uses any space anyways, he probably accidentally bought it thinking it was a smaller drive

I use spotify. You could use Google Play since it let you upload your own files.
I've a record collection thats about 8-900 records, 200 or so cassettes and a shitload of cd's. Also have an ipod classic 80gb with some stuff, but I only really listen to music at home so that's not really used at all. Not really precious about my digital collection. d/l stuff off soulseek but unless its anything special I wont back it up anywhere.
apple music t b h
it's nice to add a new album to my library at home like spotify that I can also download on my phone at any point
also any time i want to hear a song, anywhere, i can do it without using youtube and save data
