Video game music (at least for AAA stuff) is composed by old people with years and years of experience and college degrees in composition.


But when they're not composed by those people, I think it has to do with not worrying about accessibility

Like pop music has to follow certain rules to be consumed by a large amount of people
I think one of these rules is that they're applicable to people in any situation
Pop songs are purposely ambiguous I guess

Video game music doesn't have to worry about that
They only have to worry about capturing a specific feeling for a specific situation so they're composed with more power.

this sounds pretty reasonable. Vidya music is probably mostly consumed by people who are only exposed to it and pop music, and don't know is a ton of better music out there that doesn't fit the pop formula
