Grimes is based on that genre "grime". She selected it when she opened her Myspace account because it sounded cool. Geidi Primes is a pun based on the planet Giedi Prime from the Dune universe. I'm not sure why she switched "ie".

The human body can only do so much.” Music, rather, is more bound by the imagination.
