I absolutely HATE the drums on this one; the laziest beat in the fucking world.

This is where I start to get the feeling that all their songs sound the same & follow the same formula.

For having the style they do it's not very good. No cool synth effects and it almost feels like they just used a bunch of presets. Their patches are shallow as fuck. The lyrics are not good either. I guess you like it because you like the female singer, whatever...

I like it because it sounds good to me. Is that hard to understand? FYI I dig prog rock too (Yes, King Crimson, Rush, Genesis, ELP, Porcupine Tree,..) and I have no problems with synthpop. Not everything must be complex in order to be good. Ffs, Kraftwerk were even more minimalistic than Chvrches and they're legends.

I never said music had to be complex to sound good. This is simple but does not sound good, just sounds kinda lazy. I feel as though it lacks emotion and energy. Like yeah I get it, the song is structured in such a way as to be inoffensive and their tride-and-true progressions make it hard to claim that the music is bad... but it's just not doing it for me.

Yeah Kraftwerk may be more minimalistic but their patches don't sound like shit. Chvrches is using free-trial Fruityloops tier synth voicings
